Formula One’s big hitters Ferrari and McLaren have dominated the opening stages of the 2010 season, but Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel will wonder what might have been after being hit by mechanical problems in a winning position in the opening two races, which were instead won by Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. The Red Bull is clearly the fastest car on the grid at time of writing but the drama predicted by many prior to the season’s start has taken a front seat. The 2010 racing reason, with its rule changes and budgetary considerations was greeted with some degree of skepticism at the season inaugural in Abu Dhabi earlier in the season. This pessimism about the future of Formula1 racing was further exacerbated by comments made by a few F1 drivers that F1 racing was getting boring; made so by the dominance of certain manufacturers and their financial resources.
